Dutch players Ab Baars (tenor sax, clarinet, shakuhachi) and Ig Henneman (viola) are two keyfigures in adventurous music, celebrating 25 years as a duo on stage. The collaborations that Baars and Henneman where and are involved in read like an anthology of adventurous music: ICP Orchestra, Misha Mengelberg, Han Bennink, Jaap Blonk, Anthony Braxton, Roscoe Mitchell, The Ex, George Lewis, Michael Moore, Sunny Murray, Sonic Youth, Cecil Taylor, Roger Turner, Ken Vandermark… Baars played the Oorstof series in 2016 in a stellar duo with reed player Mars Williams, and Henneman honoured Oorstof/Klankhaven already with a memorable duo concert with gabby fluke-mogul at Rataplan in 2023.
With their own organization stichting WIG, Baars and Henneman produced more than 700 concerts and 33 cd’s. At the end of 2025 their combined age will be 150 years and they will celebrate 25 years on stage as a duo. Join us for an early celebration of this exceptional duo and experience their outstanding musical interaction first hand.
Deyne is the ambient music project of the Antwerp based musician Michiel Dondeyne. He combines intimate piano with subtle electronics and field recordings, incorporating drones and loops to create a sense of spaciousness and endlessness. While artists like William Basinski, Kali Malone, and Aphex Twin are definitely influences Deyne manages to carve his own sonic identity both fragile and light. Live Deyne immerses the audience in an audiovisual trip with a video made by digital storyteller Luna Goiris.
