Those who want to see Maurice Louca’s Fera with Ayman Asfour in action on a double bill with Rubis Ramadan can head to Het Bos on Saturday, February 28, during the After Iftar Hours event.

Egyptian artist Maurice Louca is one of the most singular voices of the Arabic experimental scene, with projects such as The Dwarfs of East Agouza, Lekhfa and Elephantine. His work slips smoothly between psychedelic rock, electronic and improvised music and North African rhythms. This has already led to collaborations with a wide range of musicians from Cairo, Beirut, Europe and beyond (Praed Orchestra, Karkhana, Nadah El-Shazly, Mazen Kerbaj, Burkhard Beins….).
Louca’s latest album Fera (2025) is a raw, pulsing journey full of elusive melodies and repetitive, hypnotic structures. It may well be his most filmic and intuitive work to date. For this concert at AB Salon, Louca will perform live in duo with violin player Ayman Asfour (The Handover), a trusted partner in his musical universe. Expect a set that tacks between meticulous texture and explosive improvisation…
