Keiji Haino is without a doubt one of the most important musicians from the Japanese underground scene. His work has included rock, free improvisation, noise, percussion, psychedelic music, minimalism and drones. Besides his legendary bands Fushitsusha and Lost Aaraaff he worked with artists and bands like Boris, The Melvins, Jim O’Rourke, Oren Ambarchi, Peter Brötzmann and Steve Noble. For this occasion he teams up with two of Belgium’s most active improvisors Teun Verbruggen (drums, electronics) and Jozef Dumoulin (keyboards, electronics). On this tour this unique trio presents their first release on the Sub Rosa label.
Léo Dupleix made his mark earlier in the Oorstof series with the dynamic trio Tandaapushi. Now he’s back with a new trio of young and active musicians from the European free improvised and experimental music scene using feedback, guitar, and electronics, for a special approach to improvisation, rhythm, music, sounds and the situation of concert… After Brussels and Tokyo Dupleix currently resides in Paris. He explores new sonic territories combining and confronting digital and analogue electronics. Lauri Hyvärinen is a guitar player from Helsinki. Experimental and improvised music as well as noise are his main focus. Based in Berlin and London, cyclist and artist Daichi Yoshikawa’s practice is feedback. His work is the push and pull of extremes: pitch, volume and gesture.
