Oorstof and gr’Ambacht present an evening of challenging sounds and music at the amazing new art hub Artenova in Mechelen. Based just outside the Mechelen train station, Artenova is an initiative of the Mechelen Talentenfabriek creating opportunities for artists in any discipline. For this first Oorstof/gr’Ambacht collab. Jeph Jerman & Tim Barnes will guide you through their sonic explorations in this unique setting. Bart Sloow and Timo van Luijk (Af Ursin) team up as Ilta Hämärä melting your senses with their ultra detailed and otherworldly blend of psych infused sounds.
Tim Barnes’s resume as a percussionist, engineer, and curator is studded with all-star collaborators including Tony Conrad, Sonic Youth, Body/Head, Ken Vandermark, Royal Trux, and Tower Recordings. Jeph Jerman is a veteran of the creative music scenes in Denver and Seattle, and in more recent years has been thoroughly investigating the sonic possibilities of the desert Southwest where he lives and works. With creative percussive and electronic improvisation, field recordings ranging from the call of a stranded cricket to the roar of a distant airport and a surprising array of objects Barnes and Jerman have a unique sound experience on offer.

Esteemed assembler of all things psychedelic (music, drawings, words) and head honcho of the infamous Sloow Tapes label Bart Sloow teams up with Timo van Luijk known for his poetic and subtle sound manipulations as Af Ursin and his challenging labels La Scie Dorée and Methaphon. As Ilta Hämärä they create an ultra detailed blend of psych infused sounds, otherworldly, fascinating and sensitive to the core.
